Looking for a place to get a good cup of joe? Four Alabama cafes — all of which recently made the list of “The World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops” — seem like a good place to go.
The World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops recently placed several Alabama coffee shops among the best on the planet. Prevail Union, which has locations in Montgomery and Birmingham, was ranked the highest of the Alabama shops on the list at 17th place while Domestique Coffee and Seeds Coffee Company, both of Birmingham, followed up in 47th place and 66th place. Turbo Coffee, which has locations in Florence and Tuscaloosa, came in at 72nd place.
Prevail Union was also the second-highest ranking coffee shop in the Unites States on the list, coming in only behind Onyx Coffee LAB, which has several locations throughout Arkansas. The coffee shop to take the top spot on the list overall was Toby’s Estate Coffee Roasters out of Australia. The World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops organization is on a “quest to identify the finest coffee shops across the globe,” using a public voting system as well as a panel of specialty coffee experts to rank the nominated cafes based on criteria like quality of coffee, barista expertise, innovation, ambience and more.
